Is it a law in California to put a fence or safety cover around or over your pool?
We live in California & have a debate about whether or not it is illegal to not have a fence or pool cover around an in-ground pool. Can someone please solve this dilemma?

everyplace requires that and your house insurance company does too. call your ins co. and ask them what type and height of fence they require. if you dont do it right they will make you replace it or cancel your ins.

and now days they all use google earth to find unpermitted pools. and government of Calif is very greedy.

They find you by Satellite…There’s not a year that goes by that someones Baby didn’t find their own pool and drown..Why are People still bothering to debate it…if you had the funds to have a house with a pool then you can afford a fence.

I like in ground. http://digbeaut.com/182984/in-ground Have fun.

In los angeles it is IF you have a door leading directly from home to pool area BUT you can install a pool alarm or door alarm,,,,but they have inexpensive saftey fences that can easily be removed: http://www.swimming-pool-information.com/pool-safety-fences.html
